Welcome to Hank’s Place —
Jesus gave us a parable at the start of Luke 18 to show that at all times we should pray and NOT LOSE HEART! You are familiar with it, I’m sure. Of the widow before the unrighteous judge, who, through her importuning, so wore out the wicked judge that he determined to execute justice on her behalf.
Versus :6-8 say, “And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge said; now, will God not bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night, and will He delay long for them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”
The night of the elections last November I felt so confident of victory for our beloved President DJT. What a shock the next morning brought! And those many reports of inconsistencies, irregularities, of tampering. Serious crimes. How could this be, especially as JB himself was quoted as saying, “The fix is in.”
Surely I thought, our God of all righteousness would make things right — and quickly. For as Romans 1:18 says, “For the wrath of God IS revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.” And Romans 12:19, referring to Deuteronomy 32:35, “Vengeance is Mine, I WILL repay,” says the Lord.”
Let’s believe His word my friend. Don’t lose heart. God WILL act righteously! Keep praying, right up to Jesus’ return!
One more thing – about prayers for yourself, family, others, situations, circumstances, living — whatever. Prayers still not answered. Perhaps our prayers are limited by what we can see, what we can think of, how we think God may move or what God can do. When the God of the IMPOSSIBLE (Luke 1:37), the God who delights to do what eye has not seen nor has ear heard nor has entered the heart of man (1 Corinthians 2:9), the God who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20) is seeking in the delay, to lift our vision higher, lift our faith higher, that His doing be greater — out of His great love for us — His mercies — His grace — His lovingkindness — and that He get the glory and not have it attributed to a lucky break, or happenstance, or coincidence.
Get the picture? God is able to do MORE than our present prayer. Let’s not faint, let’s keep praying for righteousness, praying those impossible prayers. And let’s allow the Spirit to lift our eyes and make those prayers more impossible — we’ll COME ALIVE!
